1812: The Fight for Canada

The years 2012-2014 will mark the 200th anniversary of the War of 1812, an important chapter in our history. In Upper and Lower Canada (Ontario and Quebec), the British, with the help of First Nations and Canadians, joined together to protect their territory against the Americans. These historic events contributed to the establishment of our country and were followed by 200 years of peace between Canada and the United States.

Celebrate the significant people, important sites and history of Canada in your work of art. Explore and show the richness of our heritage, our music, dance, architecture, fashion and culinary traditions.
